Premonition or just paranoia?

My dreams disturb me.  I see a woman with fiery red hair and haunting green eyes looking at me deeply with a seductive grin.  I don’t know who she is but in my dreams I have the feeling she is a long and trusted friend.  We’re sitting by a campfire exchanging stories and cooking a meal. I see myself drifting off to sleep.  As soon as she’s convinced I’m unconscious she walks to the edge of camp and pulls a box from her saddlebag.  Setting it on the ground next to me she opens the lid, turns away and with the grace and stealth that seems to come naturally to her species she bounds silently into the darkness.  A scorpion emerges from the box.  Jet black with a pair of scarlet stripes traveling down the lengths of its sides, it’s small legs move in a furious blurr as it skitters up my chest.  Sensing the intruder’s presence I see it just in time and close my hand around it.  The barb pierces the center of my palm.  Pain radiates from the sting shortly replaced by throbbing numbness and I am unable to move any of my fingers.  I wake up in the Undercity.  My hand feels swollen and the fingers are paralyzed, but only for a moment.  My mind catches up to reality, it was after all just a dream.  No scorpion, no sting, no betrayal in the night, but the pain…. the pain is real.
